Hi,

The issue is this line:

E/AndroidRuntime( 4472): java.lang.SecurityException: Requires VIBRATE permission

Apparently the demo app does not set that correctly. I am not sure why it works on other devices though. You should be able to fix the issue in your own app by making sure you set the permission.

In the AndroidManifest.xml that Unity creates automatically inside /Temp/StagingArea there is already the permission line:


<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.VIBRATE" />


Any idea why the Xperia is asking for this permission then? also, as you said, it's working in other devices (Galaxy S2)

Also, if I go to Manage Applications in my Sony Xperia to read about the App, it says:

Hardware Controls:
- Vibration control

So it seems that the App actually has vibration permissions...

Okay, that's odd. The exception in the log clearly says the missing permission is the reason it crashes. I don't have a suggestion right now but I'll look into it.

To workaround the following problem on the Xperia phone...

E/AndroidRuntime( 4472): java.lang.SecurityException: Requires VIBRATE permission

...add this code to TouchSense.cs...

/// The existence of this function makes sure Unity adds the VIBRATE permission to the manifest. Never call this function.
/// </summary>
private void enablePermission()
{
    iPhoneUtils.Vibrate();
}


It looks a bit strange, but works in our tests. Unity implicitly adds the VIBRATE permission to the manifest if there exists a reference to the Vibrate function, even if Vibrate is never called.
